Kid Fitness Safari promotes fun fitness to kids and parents

United Way of Greater Chattanooga is partnering with Hamilton Place Mall, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, and Sunny 92.3 to sponsor the KID FITNESS SAFARI, Saturday, June 25 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bring your children and explore the Kid Fitness Safari Trail, where you and your child will learn about simple ways to stay fit and active! You'll also have a chance to win prizes.

How it works
On Saturday, June 25, come to the Center Stage area in Hamilton Place to register for the Safari trail. You'll receive a trail map when you register. Just follow the map and complete all 10 activities along the Kid Fitness Safari Trail.

Your child may win a Kid Fitness Safari Prize Pack and will be registered for a chance to win our GRAND PRIZE from Kaplan Early Learning: The SKYARD SUMMIT.  This kids’ climber looks and feels like real rock! You can see it on display at the Center Stage area in Hamilton Place during the week of June 19.

There will also be healthy snacks for kids all day, a tumbling demonstration by The Little Gym, and much more!  For more information, visit United Way’s website at www.LiveUnitedChattanooga.org or call 423-752-0300.

Why Kid Fitness?
One of the biggest problems facing this country is childhood obesity. Not only does it affect a child's health, it also affects their ability to learn! According to the Mayo Clinic, childhood obesity is a serious medical condition that affects children and adolescents. One of the best strategies to combat excess weight in children is to improve their diet and exercise levels. This helps protect their health now and in the future. Through United Way and The National Association for Sport and Physical Education, Kid Fitness TM has become a valuable resource to inspire children to increase their physical activity through classroom physical activity kits, an educational PBS TV series, website and more. www.kidfittvclub.com

This event is sponsored by United Way of Greater Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, the Tennessee Department of Health, Hamilton Place Mall, Kid Fitness, Sunny 92.3, the YMCA, Creative Discovery Museum, Little Gym, and pediatric Dentistry of Cleveland.
