Just a reminder that Read Across Chattanooga begins tonight at Hamilton Place Mall at 6 p.m. at the Center Stage and runs all week through March 3. You can also click this link for more information.

Read Across Chattanooga Event Calendar    

  • Tues., Feb. 28, 6 to 7 p.m.: Celebrity reading by Kim Carson, a visit by the Cat in the Hat, and free book enrollments. Creative Discovery Museum will be present with book-related activities and the book of the day is Horton Hears a Who.
  • Wed., Feb. 29: 6 to 7 p.m.: celebrity reading by Rabbit Zielke at Center Stage, a visit by the Cat in the Hat, and free book enrollments. Chattanooga Public Library will be present with book-related activities and the book of the day is The Sneetches and Other Stories.
  • Thurs., Mar. 1: 6 to 7 p.m.: celebrity reading by James Howard at Center Stage, a visit by the Cat in the Hat, and free book enrollments. CAAEYC will be present with book-related activities and the book of the Day is Oh The Places You’ll Go.
  • Fri., Mar. 2: 6 to 7 p.m.: celebrity reading by James Howard and Azusa Dance at Center Stage, a visit by the Cat in the Hat, and free book enrollments. Siskin Children’s Institute will be present with book-related activities and the book of the Day is Green Eggs and Ham.
  • Sat., Mar. 3: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.: snacks, celebrity story time at Center Stage, a visit by the Cat in the Hat, free book enrollments, kids sing Happy Birthday to Dr. Seuss, arts & crafts and more… Book of the day – Cat in the Hat and others by Dr. Seuss. Featured celebrities: Mayor Ron Littlefield, Senator Andy Berke, Don Welch and emcee Julie Edwards. The first 500 children to attend the Dr. Seuss Birthday party on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. will receive a free Dr. Seuss book, courtesy of theKiwanis Club of Chattanooga and United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s Project Ready for School.
