**UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN UPDATE** UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN EXCEEDS $8 MILLION
Campaign Chairman Mike Butler is asking donors to strive for a seven percent increase in giving to help the organization meet its goals and continue to support the vital human service needs in our community. So far $8,423,402 million, or 72 percent of the $11.7 million goal, has been raised during the 2007 Community Campaign. The campaign has had tremendous support from several area companies that have reported large increases in giving, including the Electric Power Board, the Chattanooga Fire Department, the Chattanooga Gas Company, the AIM Center and Southern Adventist University. Many campaigns are still in progress and several companies are adding special events to boost their employee contributions even higher. ?We are still waiting to hear from several individuals who have been long-time supporters of United Way, but have yet to make a donation during the 2007 campaign and some employee campaigns are still running,? said Mike Butler, 2007 campaign chair. ?The opportunity to meet our target goal is out there, but we truly need everyone's support in order to make it happen. United Way urges anyone who hasn?t been given an opportunity to contribute to the 2007 campaign to please consider making a donation now. Financial contributions can be made by contacting United Way at 423-752-0300 or www.uwchatt.org. United Way of Greater Chattanooga funds local programs that create opportunities for people to care for themselves and each other, making our community the best at helping people achieve their potential. Thanks to an endowment fund that covers all overhead and administrative expenses, all contributions (100 percent) go directly to services that help individuals and families in the greater Chattanooga area, north Georgia and northeast Alabama. Call the United Way at 423-752-0300 for more information. ### |
