Every April, United Way's Volunteer Center, DOVIA, and the Corporate Volunteer Council organize an awards banquet to thank and recognize area volunteers during National Volunteer Week. This year's banquet was held at the BX in Brainerd.

Every Fall, United Way's Volunteer Center organizes a community day of care with the help of ACE Hardware and the many members of the Corporate Volunteer Council. This year's site of the day was the Building Stable Lives Center in East Lake.
