DAY OF CARING
Volunteer to Live United

United Way’s Annual Day of Caring is about caring volunteers uniting to make an impact at our local human service agencies, schools and other nonprofits.

This year’s Day of Caring was held Thursday, September 11. More than 270 volunteers worked on 30 different projects ranging from beautification projects at local nonprofits to spending time with elderly residents at senior homes or building Habitat homes.

The project of the day was repainting and repairs at the new center for Building Stable Lives in East Lake.  About 20 ACE volunteers and volunteers from churches in the community helped prime and paint the center inside and out, as well as make a number of minor, but necessary repairs to the floors and structure.  See the videos below to see how much fun everyone was having making a hands-on impact!

ACE Hardware, the Day of Caring sponsor, donates a portion of their Labor Day weekend sales to United Way. A percentage of every dollar purchased by Helpful Hardware Club Card members is donated. This money helps participating Day of Caring organizations purchase needed supplies for their volunteer projects.
