NewsChannel 9 and United Way’s 211 spearhead Coats for Kids Drive
Community asked to give a coat to help a child
Every year, thousands of children in the Tennessee Valley benefit from the News Channel 9 Coats for Kids Drive.
With the help of First Tennessee Bank, Wal-Mart, United Way, area dry cleaners and YOU, coats are collected and distributed to different agencies, nonprofit organizations and schools throughout the Tennessee Valley to be given out to a child or family in need at no charge.
If you would like to help keep a child warm this winter, simply bring in a new or "gently used" coat to any of our participating locations. All sizes of coats are needed, from infants to adults and small to extra large.
The Coats for Kids Drive ends on Sunday, December 6 at the Chattanooga Market located inside the First Tennessee Pavilion on Carter Street. There will be a coat collection area at the Market that day from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for one last big push to collect as many coats as possible in time for the holidays.
The need this year is greater than ever, so please give soon at a location near you.
