Thanks to United Way of Greater Chattanooga's endowment fund,100% of your United Way investment goes to support vital human services that impact your community! Those United Ways without an endowment fund must generally allocate 10-15% of community campaign funds to cover administrative and fundraising expenses.
Because of United Way of Greater Chattanooga's endowment fund, none of your United Way investment is used to cover these expenses. How is that possible? The endowment fund is a financial investment, similar to a 401k or IRA. Quite simply, the fund generates enough interest every year to cover all of United Way's administrative and fundraising costs.
A volunteer Endowment Committee is annually appointed by the United Way Executive Committee to manage the endowment fund. A well-established and well-managed endowment fund is one very important way that United Way multiplies your community impact!
