United Way's Project Ready for School initiative helps children prepare for success in school and life by encouraging parents' involvement in their child's earliest learning experiences.

Get more resources through Born Learning
 To help get the message about the importance of early learning to as many parents as possible, United Way supports the nationwide "Born Learning" campaign, sponsored nationally by United Way's Success By 6, Civitas and the Ad Council. "Born Learning" shows that everyday moments matter when getting your child ready for school. Find out more about Born Learning.
Imagination Library
Children ages birth to five years who are enrolled in Project Ready for School get a hardback Imagination Library book in the mail each month at no cost to their families. Enroll your child now!
Thanks to United Way's partnership with the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation, Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is now available to registered children Hamilton and Marion Counties in Tennessee. Children in Catoosa, Dade and Walker Counties in Georgia receive Imagination Library books through a partnership with the Ferst Foundation for Childhood Literacy.
Funding for Imagination Library books comes from donations to United Way, as well as contributions from local companies and foundations. In Tennessee, the cost of boks is split between United Way and the Governor's Books from Birth Foundation. In Georgia, "Community Action" teams in each county raise money through local fundraising efforts. These funds are combined with United Way donations to provide funding for the program.

Annual "Learning Checkups"
